That density gap matters because Comfortboard 80 won’t compress into joist bays designed for batt insulation, and Comfortbatt won’t hold mechanically on vertical walls without sagging.

For encapsulation specifically, we’re usually pairing Rockwool insulation with a 6-mil or thicker polyethylene vapor barrier, not replacing the Rockwool itself.
